Memorizing Speeches

Memorizing can be difficult, but what it comes down to is:
1. know your topic well! (So you know what to say about it.)
2. practice it by repetition.

It is easiest to memorize a speech if you know what you are talking about: meaning, you should do your speech on something you are interested in - and your topic should be well researched by you.

To memorize your speech...
You can prepare note cards or an outline for your speech by writing down the major points of your speech. These points will remind you of what to say next...so put them in order.

Keep practicing and practicing your speech, while trying to look at your notes less and less.

It very helpful to read your speech out loud. I also suggest saying your speech in front of a few people - this is so you get used to talking in front of an audience.
